Möbius and Heavy Metal magazine. That was the shit when I was young. I was never any good with drawing. I couldn't draw an outhouse on a table napkin to save my life. "With a gun pointed at my head," as Parker used to say. But Möbius, his stuff was so good! Surreal, fun, smart, out of this world. Just totally original. I wanted my music to sound like that! To sound impossible, bright, and true. Threatening. Whatever he was doing I wanted to do it too.
