I recorded a 23 minute cassette of mostly unlistenable noise under the name Dragstrip Courage sometime back in the late 90s. The recordings were made using a crappy four track that I had liberated from a friend's studio the previous week, and constituted little more than my early experiments with a couple old synths, some mics, and a drum machine. I must have made 25 or so copies of the thing and consigned them to record stores and thrift shops across Vancouver. I don't know if anybody ever bought one of those cassettes - as I never bothered to go back to see whether any had sold - or even whether some bored and bespeckled hipster clerk put it on randomly one afternoon in the shop and if so what then what did they think and how long did it take for them to hit eject on the machine and to take the tape place it carefully back into its plastic enclosure and then file it again in the drawer marked oblivion.
