Look at that she said to me pointing out across the city at the fog glowing like a mutant whisper among the orange industrial cranes of the port. The city was a lazy dream below us. Lights strung across the bridge in the distance glowed like a final pronouncement; it’s just you and the ocean from here on out. The shadow of the park where I first touched her hand and held it lay on the land like a sleeping creature whose mind we can never know. Who hungers even in its sleep. The sun came up behind us. We watched our shadows grow and the fog disperse. We left two dark paths back to the car from the lookout in the frosted grass. | image by @okee.dokee
